Meet Penny Drop!

MPWD’s new water awareness ambassador, Penny Drop, "dropped" in for the first time at Belmont’s Earth Day in April, 2026 and was a hit with kids (and pets!) of all ages.

Although this Penny originally dropped from the skies in the Sierra Nevadas, Penny is now down to Earth and calls the Mid-Peninsula area her home. There is nothing "mid" about Penny. Penny's water awareness is such a flex and she is always keeping it real when it comes to reminding the community that every drop counts when conserving water for the future. And when it comes to water quality, Penny is high-key attention to details. Nothing gets past Penny!
