MPWD Joins the Fun at the 2025 Belmont Water Dog Run

The Mid-Peninsula Water District (MPWD) proudly joined this year's 8th Annual Belmont Water Dog Run, celebrating community, fitness, and fun while connecting and interacting with residents. The 5k, 10k, 1 mi kids, and 1 mi Fido runs had a bit of something for everyone, especially the cheering crowds rooting for their friends and family. The Water Dog Run is one of Belmont’s favorite annual traditions, bringing families, runners, and local organizations together to support the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District and other community causes.

MPWD’s booth was a hit! Hundreds of visitors stopped by to meet the MPWD team, ask questions, discussing ongoing infrastructure improvements, and share feedback. MPWD staff, including Superintendent Michael Anderson, Administrative Services Manager Alison Bell, Water Resources Coordinator Drew Bost, and Lead Operator Chris Michaelis, handed out popular MPWD promotional giveaways—earning praise from at least one visitor as having “the best swag at the event.” Another visitor commented, “everyone from the District I’ve interacted with in the field has always been so nice and helpful."

Adding to the celebration, MPWD's own Alison Bell laced up her running shoes and joined the fun as a Water Dog Run participant in the 5K event. Her participation and the District’s strong presence at the event highlight MPWD’s ongoing commitment to the community it serves.

MPWD extends sincere gratitude to the Belmont Water Dog Run organizers and volunteers for another fantastic event. The District looks forward to continuing its participation in the future—supporting both the health of the community and the reliable water systems that keep it running strong.
