National Night Out Returns to Belmont

On August 3, 2021, the City of Belmont returned to its annual celebration of community safety with the 37th National Night Out. Nine events were scheduled across the city, with MPWD hosting a booth at the Carlmont Shopping Center from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. MPWD staff were glad to share the importance of water conservation with visiting community members while offering free water conservation promotional items, such as the popular MPWD water-saving buckets. Many community members took the opportunity to ask questions about water availability in Belmont, the status of the current drought, and various rebate programs. One visitor was kind enough to congratulate MPWD's newest Board member, Cathy Wright.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
