AI Policy
The purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidance for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and systems by Mid-Peninsula Water District (MPWD) employees, contractors, and Directors. MPWD recognizes that AI can improve efficiency, enhance decision making, and support service delivery to the community, while also presenting new ethical, legal, and security considerations. This policy ensures that any use of AI aligns with MPWD’s values of accountability, transparency, and public trust. It also establishes boundaries for how AI tools may be used, especially regarding data privacy, public records compliance, and confidentiality.
